Michael Jackson. R.I.P.
Gone too soonBorn To Amuse, To Inspire, To DelightSome Memories:
Here One Day
Gone One Night

Dying With The Rising Of The Moon
Gone Too Soon
- Back when there was no MTV in India, music got many of us hooked on to "western music", the first pop album I ever purchased was "Bad", couldn't understand the lyrics but loved the music. It was under a label called CBS who sold audio cassettes for Rs.33 Only, and it is among the best things I ever bought.
- "Dangerous" came out in 1991, I think some time in December and I couldn't wait to buy the cassette, finally got it somewhere in Santacruz or Goregaon in some chhota sa music store while waiting with my friend for his girlfriend.
- "Black & White" was so popular, the morphing sequence at the end, and yeah, for us Indians, that little Bharatnatyam piece was special
- "Remember the time" with its amazing special effects
- MJ and "Slash" in "Give in to me" - Awesome
- The sexy video with Naomi Campbell "In the Closet"
- This evening, my iPod's shuffle mode played "Dirty Diana"

He is the real "Dance King" of Western Dance. I came to know about him during my College days. In the college hostel, I first heard the album "Dangerous". It will speak of his memories forever, even though he is not there with us.
TCP,
Michael Jackson will live forever in every music fans mind & hearts. I was a great fan of his Thriller & Dangerous Album.
I still remember those days, when I used to see Jackson's poster everywhere, in Saloons, Washer Shops, General Stores in the neighbourhood, many of whom weren't able to even spell his name properly. A true tribute to his glorious days in Music World.
Not much you could say about his life though, but it's a lesson what a celebrity should and should not do when they attain fame. Hope that the budding musicians take his life as a lesson while building their career.

Hi TCP, agree with you....too many memories of MJ. People might remember him for all the wrong things but in most of our generation and the one earlier they will have fond memories of his music and his entertaining videos....also he had a big heart is evident from the pioneering efforts he made for the all-star concert for Africa - We are the World.
all of us must have tried the moonwalk at some point of our life....
RIP MJ - more people loved you than you imagined...you were never BAD only a THRILLER
Nice tribute. I have Bad and Dangerous - the Rs.33 versions, but no cassette player to play them on...
RIP Michael. I hope people always remember you as the 80's Michael.
THE KING IS DEAD. LONG LIVE THE KING.
(Egyptian phrase for dead Pharhoe)
Dear all,
Jackson was arguably the greatest music entertainer and definitely among the finest musical geniuses world has ever seen. I have been a big fan since 1990s. Jackson's sogs are so positive. I always feel confident whenever I listen to them. His music videos, which he called 'short films' are absolutely amazing. He was a perfectionist, who always gave 200% in all that he did. You know Jackson used to record a song tens of times before he finally approved it to be part of his album. Moreover, he would write and record 100 songs and he would select 10 of the best for his album. He was an artist, who lived and died for his music. Michael possibly could have lived had he not been practising and training hard for his upcoming shows. He used to writhe in pain as he had hurt probably fractured, his vertebrae and leg, but he did not want to let his fans as well as show promoters down, and kept on practising while being on painkillers. Destiny played its role slowly. Had Jackson pulled off these shows, they would have definitely gone down the annuls of history as among the greatest sows ever performed by any musician.
May Michael Jackson soul rest in peace. At least now he is away from the bloodhounds called media, critics and lawsuitors, who just mocked, fleeced and viled him, and not project his musical talent in the right manner.
Long live Michael! You may have left but your legacy will live on. You will always live in our hearts.
Thanks,
Vijay Gautam
May his soul RIP.
But, he'll live on... in the hearts and minds of legions of his fans.
MJ - For me, was a relaxation from the earthly issues in those days, even now.

An entire generation grew up with similar memories. Sigh!
Can't believe MJ has gone for real. I used to watch remember the time on mtv when it first came out in India.
Goodbye MJ.
Glad to know TCP that you too were a MJ fan.
I tried to get to the funeral by submitting my name for the funeral tickets. Did'nt get them sadly!
Again, a very late reply...
