Comic #78: Phantom - The Masked Marvel

Saturday, December 31, 2005 Share: Digg Technorati Delicious StumbleUpon Facebook

The cover of this one reminds me vaguely of the scene in Don where Pran escapes with the 2 kids. I would very much love to sum up 2005 but I am leaving for Bombay in about 12 hours - for a week. So I guess I will do that some other time. So this is the last comic of 2005 and 2006 will bring many more comics...scanned by Misraji, Johnny Hotwire, Desiguru (Hindi comics mostly?), maybe Anthony and of course TCP because he will get a scanner soon.

Interesting observation made by karthik in the previous comic: Check Page 9 :-)

Amazing story TCP. I think there was another similar one by Falk, where the young Kit Walker disappears just before the Olympics.

I read it a long time ago.

Happy New yr to TCP and all its readers...

..Now about that Rs.50

Looked at the original b/w strips and she says 50 *dollars*

Guess what, they indianised it. Won't be the only time..

Singha pirates was actually Singh..lol now that would have annoyed a lot of ppl left untouched.

Dangalla was Bengali....

Phantom's domain covered India & Africa, Lee Falk never did specify which continent.

Friend, I can't thank you enough for posting this particular comic.
This was absolutely one of the top 5 Phantom stories ever. A really top of the line Lee Falk script, Wilson Mc Coy art. Amazing.
Thanks a lot.
